  • Well, I was referring to the first split, since you were referring to Transjordan. The UN split the western palestinian state before the war, the jewish palestinians still unhappy went to war thus drawing the map of what we know today as israel and palestine.

  • It might have something to do with Jerusalem... and it wasn't even a war, the british split the country - but as with most disputes of this nature, it was decided without any cultural considerations.

  • I tend to agree, the Israelis are not so far above the Hamas and it will require sincere and humble concessions from both sides. I think there is genuine hope in the current climate. We may be moving at a glacial pace, but it seems we are moving in the right direction for this part of the world.

  • I agree it's just a gimmick, I don't think anyone would deny it. But the world is run on gimmicks and people care about superficiality, it's how I would suggest most people make their decisions, even important ones.
